George’s Conservative Philosophy
Limit government to provide unlimited opportunities.
Always put taxpayers first.
Always abide by the US and Pennsylvania Constitutions.
Transparency in government is always the best disinfectant.
Public service, not self-service.
Meet George

Republican George Margetas, a lifelong resident of York County, was born at York Hospital in the late 1970s. The son of Greek immigrants, he grew up in the Dover/West York area, where he attended West York High School and helped his family run small businesses. It was there that George developed a deep appreciation for hard work, entrepreneurship, and the importance of building a strong, connected community. After graduating from Dickinson College and Thomas M. Colley School of Law, George continued to support his family’s businesses while launching his own ventures, further cementing his commitment to our community.
Beyond his professional life, George has been actively engaged in York area civic life for many years. He served on the West York School Board for 10 years and currently serves as a West Manchester Township Supervisor. In these roles, he has witnessed firsthand the challenges that Harrisburg policies can create for local communities and schools, inspiring him to take action at the state level.
As a father to a young daughter, George is driven by the desire to preserve freedom, opportunity, and prosperity for future generations. He knows Harrisburg can do more to support the people of York County, and he is committed to bringing practical, results-driven leadership to the State House as your next State Representative.

George’s Priorities in Harrisburg
- Finally enact the taxpayer protection act which will protect taxpayers from long term fiscally reckless spending practices by future Harrisburg governments.
- Oppose any attempts to increase the tax burden on citizens and small businesses.
- Support only budgets that are balanced and don’t outpace inflation and population growth.
- Protect our 2nd amendment rights now and for future generations to come.
- Support measures to preserve the sanctity of life.
- Assist and protect our law enforcement and first responder communities.
- Protect girls’ sports by banning biological men from competing in them.
- Always ensure education dollars follows students – not the systems and bureaucracy.
- Ban gifts to politicians and lobbyist-funded junkets that corrupt our officials.
- Support term limits on Harrisburg legislators.
- End gold-plated, lifetime taxpayer-funded pensions for Harrisburg politicians.
